Somalia: East Africa University graduates 118 students

GAROWE, Somalia, September 26, 2015 (Garowe Online)-East African University’s campus in Puntland capital of Garowe has graduated 118 students in different fields of studies, mainly in undergraduate level on Saturday, Garowe Online reports.

The students pursued Community Development, Sharia and Law, Business Administration and Computer Science courses for four years.

Puntland Parliament Speaker Saed Hassan Shire, cabinet ministers, parliamentarians, university management and academic staff, and students attended the graduation ceremony.

Speakers focused more on support for youth education and creation of income generating activities for university graduates in their remarks.

East Africa University management said, they narrowed the gap in education sector across Puntland.

Speaker Shire challenged the youth to be creative, trashing any reason for perilous journey to Europe.

He called on traditional leaders to give due consideration to educated youths during parliamentary selection processes.

The graduates are the third batch to be graduated by East Africa University campus in Garowe.
