Somalia: Puntland arrests IRC official for questioning on transparence

GAROWE, Somalia, November 19, 2015 (Garowe Online)-A senior official with humanitarian organization, The International Rescue Committee (IRC) has been put behind bars for questioning on how transparent, a committee named by Puntland President is on Wednesday evening, Garowe Online reports.

Dek Mohamud Hashi was arrested for reporting to police about threats from Puntland presidency.

Hashi heads International NGOs committee ordered to in advance contact tendering cabal under the deputy chair of Director for Projects at Puntland Presidency, Abdikani Farah Dhashane.

In a meeting with President Ali, the detained official made clear doubts looming over the credibility of the bidding and tendering presidential arm.

According to its official profile, the International Rescue Committee responds to humanitarian crisis, and assists people devastated by conflicts and disasters.
