Puntland ex-President, EU envoy discuss electoral model

GAROWE, Puntland-Former Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole has received EU delegation led by Ambassador to Somalia Michele Cervone d’Urso on Monday, Garowe Online reports.

The EU envoy to Somalia arrived in Puntland capital of Garowe for the launch of the second phase of ‘Education is light programme’ to be executed by Care International and funded by EU with 7 million Euros.

Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali has attended the launching event.

He also proceeded with a meeting with Abdirahman Farole flanked by former Vice President Abdisamad Ali Shire and other politicians.

The discussions centered around controversial electoral proposal for 2016 transition and the latest political developments in the East African country.

Farole had previously met a group of diplomats led by new United Nations envoy to Somalia Ambassador Michael Keating.
