Somalia: Bomb blast wounds University lecturer in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia- A bomb fitted into a car has critically wounded a university lecturer in the capital of Mogadishu, on Tuesday, Garowe Online reports.

An eyewitness, who asked to remain anonymous, told GO that the car exploded outside Sei Piano building located in Hodan district.

The university lecturer who was identified as Abdiweli Baadi Mohamed has sustained injures from the bomb explosion, and rushed to a nearby hospital for a treatment.

Reports said the wounded professor is working with former CRD head Jibril Ibrahim Abdulle, who is currently a presidential candidate running for presidency in 2016 elections.

Three people bystanders were reportedly got injured from the bomb blast and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack is thought to be carried out by Al Shabaab militants group, as they intensified sporadic attacks in the capital Mogadishu recently.
