Somalia, Egypt leaders meet on Economic Forum sideline

CAIRO, Egypt, March 16, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Federal Government of Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has met with Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of three-day investment forum in Sharm el-Sheikh, Garowe Online reports.

Accompanied by Somali ambassador to Egypt and Arab League and presidential officials, President Mohamud discussed the progress Somalia made in political and security fronts and vision 2016 with Egypt’s Sisi during the bilateral meeting in the Egyptian resort.

On his side, Sisi has expressed pleasure over the ongoing progress in Somalia, and pledged support for the East African nation.

Somalia President along with more than 20 heads of State and multinational companies representatives had been in Egypt for a key investment forum.

Mohamud has travelled to Egypt, an education ally that has more recently offered 200 scholarship grants to Somalia three times.

The economically troubled Arab country is being propped up by Gulf nations with Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait at the forefront.
