ADADO, Somalia, August 29, 2015 (Garowe Online)-The President of interim Galmudug administration Abdikarin Hussein Gulled has announced a 52-member cabinet overnight on Friday after deadline extension by parliament, Garowe Online reports.

Gulled named a cabinet consisting of 24 ministers, 24 deputies and four state ministers after he formally failed to form the cabinet within 45 days specified.

Galmudug parliament extended the deadline by 15 days despite stiff opposition emanating from rival paramilitary group, Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamea.

On Thursday, Gulled signed a deal with a renegade wing led by Sheikh Ibrahim Gureye in Adado.

Nevertheless, Galmudug presidential claimant Sheikh Mohamed Shakir Ali Hassan rejected the peace initiative and distanced himself from any agreement.

“Ahlu Sunna was not part of the agreement and it has united. [Paramilitary group] formed administration in the will of central regions communities,” Hassan told reporters in his stronghold, Dhusamareb.

The moderate Islamists have wrested control of Dhusamareb, Guri’el and a string of villages, leaving internationally-backed Gulled impotent.
