Somalia: Militants attack popular hotel in Mogadishu

March 27, 2015 (GO)- Suspected Al-shabab militants have attacked a luxury hotel frequented by government officials and business executives.

The attack started after a suicide car bomber detonated his explosives-laden car at the gate of Maka Al-Mukarama hotel followed by gunment who fought their way into the hotel.

Officials said that the attackers took positions inside the hotel building, fighting with guards and soldiers.

No casualities has so far been reported. No group has immediately claimed the responsibility for the attack.
