Somalia: President Farmajo arrives UAE in a state visit

MOGADISHU, Somalia- The President of Somalia's Federal government, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo, has arrived to Abu Dhabi city, the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday, Garowe Online reports.

President Farmajo is expected to meet with UAE's top leaders and discuss wide range of issues, including the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Reliable sources at the Presidential Palace said that the President and his delegation comprising of ministers and Federal MPs headed to Abu Dhabi after receiving an invitation from the UAE government.

President's visit to UAE comes amid reports that Somali Federal Parliament is set to debate a motion about the deal with Somaliland administration to build military base in the port of Berbera city. 

In the past few years, the UAE implemented several development and humanitarian projects in Somalia and has shown great interest to develop ports in the horn of African country.
