Somalia President meets Buhari in Abuja

ABUJA, Nigeria, May 30, 2015(Garowe Online)-As the two nations are trying to stave off terrorism, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has held talks with Nigeria’s newly elected President Gen. Muhammadu Buhari  in Abuja on Friday, Garowe Online reports.

Mohamud briefed Buhari on the fight against Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab militants according to a statement from the office of Somalia President.

“Somalia and Nigeria Governments share many things in common, among them is the Al Shabaab and Boko Haram that adhere to single ideology and known for inhumane and evil acts,” said Somalia President.

Mohamed hinted at future cooperation between Somalia and Nigeria on the tackling of terror campaigns.

Buhari who was sworn into a four-year term at high profile event on Friday has been set to arrive in Somalia on official visit for the first time as Nigerian leader on unspecified date.
