Somalia: Soldiers shoot dead four civilians in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia- Somali government soldiers shot and killed four civilians, including two women in different neighborhoods of the capital Mogadishu on, Garowe Online reports.

According to witnesses, an intelligence officer has gunned down a woman in Mogadishu's Aden Adde International Airport after brief argument as she was traveling abroad on Tuesday afternoon. 

Another civilian woman was also killed minutes later by a Police soldier who opened fire on a bus in Danwadagta area, near the Airport during security lock-down for President's departure.

In a separate incident, at least two youths were killed and others critically injured after a soldier shot at a crowd during a football match in Mogadishu's Dharkenley district, a witness told GO over the phone.

It was not immediately clear why the soldier opened fire at the crowd, however, Police say they are investigating the tragic incident. 

The Somali soldiers who murdered the civilians fled the crime scenes right away before the arrival of the Police authorities who subsequently launched a manhunt for the suspects.

The Federal Government of Somalia has not yet commented on the shootings, which are the latest in string of insecurity incidents and assassinations in the capital Mogadishu over the past few weeks.
