Somalia: University Lecturer wounded in Mogadishu bomb blast

MOGADISHU, Somalia Jan 7, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Lecturer at SIMAD University in Mogadishu is in critical condition after a bomb attached to his car went off on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports.

The bomb blast seriously wounded Ibrahim in Mogadisu’s Taleh neighborhood, with medics saying his legs have been severed.

On December 10, unidentified assailants killed the University’s acting President Ibrahim Mohamud Hamud in drive-by shooting.

Nobody claimed credit for the bomb blast but as has been the case, beleaguered Al Shabaab group targets Government officials, key figures and foreigners in terror operations.

Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has once served as the head of SIMAD University.
