Ethiopian PM and his wife permitted to adopt a child from Orphanage centre

ADDIS ABABA - The federal first instance court has granted permission to First Lady Zinash Tayachew and Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed to adopt a child named Million from Kibebe Tsehay Orphanage.

First Lady Zinash, who has seen her adoption request approved after attending the court in person, said her family will provide the love and care for the child.

Meaza Ashenafi, President of the Supreme Court, sent a congratulatory message to First Lady Zinash and Prime Minister Dr Abiy.

The decision of First Lady Zinash and Prime Minister Dr Abiy could be a model to other Ethiop.ians to adopt disadvantaged children, she added.

First Lady Zinash and Prime Minister Dr Abiy applied to the court to get permission for the adoption of Million on January 22, 2019.
