​Somalia: One dead, 9 wounded in Car bomb blast in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia - Loud explosion said to be a Car bomb happened near a hotel along Makka Al Mukarama street in Mogadishu, Somali capital on Monday afternoon, Garowe Online reports.

A witness has confirmed to GO that at least one person was killed, and nine others were wounded after a car packed with explosives went off at a busy cafe near Wehliye hotel, close to Dabka junction.

Ambulances arrived at the scene and transported the wounded to the hospitals to receive medical treatment. Somali Police cordoned off the area, and launched an investigation into the incident.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the car bomb in Mogadishu, but, the Al Qaeda-linked Al shabaab group often carry out such bombings in the capital, trying topple to UN-backed government.
